As a national & multiple award winning producer/videographer, my career began way back in 1981 at Community Cablevision in Newport Beach, California. While learning from the ground up, we produced local and regional projects in the entire Southern California region. Our projects included, merchant commercials, corporate projects, community events and news as well as in studio programming. Those years working there were both rewarding and memorable.
In August of 1986, it was time to break away and start my own production business, Procam Productions. Since then, I've been an independent videographer and producer and haven't looked back. Procam Productions relocated north to Chico, California in mid 1993. Since then, there have too many projects to mention, but one of the most notable was a regionally produced series on the arts, called "The Creative Spirit", which received, "THE VIDEOGRAPHER AWARD" and "THE MAYOR"S AWARD" & an "ANNIE"S APPLE" from the city of Chico, California.
The newest venture is the production of a new and exciting web/broadcast series, produced in the north state region of California, called "Turning Green" . a broadcast series that advocates the vision of a green and sustainable future here in our own back yard. Each month, we'll produce a new 5-8 minute video segment focusing on a small business, educational program, environmental group or an individual advocate that practices and uses a more sustainable way of making or doing things towards a "greener" future.
Although primarily produced in the north state region of California, "Turning Green" will reach a potential world wide audience through both the internet and broadcast television. "Turning Green" is produced in high definition and will be carried on it's own website (www.turninggreentv.com) as well as other websites, YOU TUBE and broadcast television, including public television.
Combined with my 25 plus years of production experience as a videographer/producer and the extraordinary creative talents of long time editor, graphic designer and musician, Jim Miller of Local World Productions, our goal is provide an informative program that hopefully will generate more innovation, advocacy and practices towards a more sustainable future.
For more information on this program or if you have any ideas, thoughts or program suggestions, we welcome your input and ideas.
Thank you,
Bruce Jans, producer
